The 1st Line Infantry Regiment fought at Palo Alto, Resaea de la Palma, Monterrey, and Angastura, were badly decimated at Contreras, and finally destroyed at Molino Del Ray. They wore black stovepipe shakos, dark blue coats and trousers with red facings and yellow plasteron.
