8" Muzzle Loading Rifles of this type were commonly used aboard ships and in fortresses during the 1880's through the turn of the Century. Our Reviresco kit is 17 parts. Scaled for 28mm figures 1/64th scale.

Outside the Patriots Point Museum in Mt.Pleasant SC four 8" Dalhgren Rifled Muzzle Loader cannons are on display.

The four Dahlgren cannons began life as smoothbores with timber carriage mounts, like the two aboard the USS MONITOR during the War Between the States. In the 1870s they were sleeved and rifled down to 8” for greater range and accuracy.

In 1881 the four 16,000 pound cannons were installed (with the current iron carriage/mounts) on the newly rebuilt steam frigate USS LANCASTER. The cannons were used until 1895.

Patriot's Point acquired them from the Charleston Naval Shipyard after it closed in 1996.

When I saw these guns during a visit to Patriot's point I knew I had to kit them up. Our 1/64th scale 17 part kit is designed to allow you to do these guns as front pintal mounts or center pintal mounts.
