The 4.5 inch Q.F. Howitzer was first built in 1909.    It was used throughout the Great War on all Fronts.   The Armies of Britian, Austrailia, Canada, New Zealand and Russa used these guns.  Russia had over 400 of these weapons.  It proved to be one of the most effective weapons of the Great War. 

At the end of World War I many were sold to the Baltic States, Eire, Rumania, Spain, Poland and China.   Three thousand three hundred and fifty nine of these guns were produced.
