ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
RUINED CHURCH
General Instructions: before cutting out the parts lightly score all fold lines to facilitate bending. An arrow-x indicates a line which is to be a back fold and should be scored on the Linprinted side of the sheet. This may be accomplished by pushing a pin through the end point of each line so marked and then using the pin hole as a reference point to score the card. When cutting the parts out, use a sharp knife and a metal ruler. Write the window identifying letters and the wall top section numbers on the reverse of the parts for your reference during construction.
Begin with sheet 1. Cut out the door and windows of both the front and left outer walls and also the door and windows of the front and left inner walls. Carefully score all fold lines at corners W and X. Note that both inner and outer walls have a base line which must be scored. Tab X is a back fold and should be scored on the reverse side of the paper.
Sheet 2. As above, Note that tab 7 is a backfold.
Proceed to sheet 4; begin with inner window liner A. Note the two back
fold lines which correspond to the lower corners of the window. Score and fold down all
side tabs. The small tab at the top is a back fold and is intended to join the bottom of
the piece to form the arch of the window. The area in which the tabs appear like saw teeth
is
to be gently curved inward to form the sides of the window arch. Glue this to the inside
of the left outer wall to form the inside of window A. Do like wise with all windows 8
through 0. Note that windows C and 0 are not complete windows; their tabs are bent down to
glue inside of the corresponding wall top strip.
Now do like wise with inner window liners E through H. Glue these onto the inside of the right outer wall (part 2).
Go to sheet 4. Locate wall top strip 0. Score the side tabs and both the backfolds and normal fold lines. Glue the numbered side tabs to the inside of the left outer wall beginning at corner X and matching the numbered sections. Glue each wall top strip into place on the inside of the outer walls so that each section number corresponds to the same number on the wall.
On sheet 4 find the doorway inner liner. Scare, cut, fold, and glue tab d to end dl. The curved portion of this part forms the arch. Glue this part to the inside of the front outer wall so that it matches the doorway.
Go to sheet S. Find the corner braces. Score, cut, fold, and glue each
brace into a four sided square beam. Glue each corner brace into its matching corner on
the inside of the left and right outer walls.
Fold the left inner wall up to meet the tabs on the wall top strips and
window liners. Very carefully glue the left inner wall to the wall top strip and window
liner tabs. Be sure that the bottom corners of the inner and outer walls are square and
that all the
windows and top edges line up. Do likewise with the right inner wall.
Now fold corner X to 900. Fold the front inner wall into position; gluing it to tab X, the inner tabs on the door liner, and the side tabs on the wall top strip. Do likewise with the rear inner wall.
Find sheet 3. Construct the stairs by beginning with stairs part 2 and
gluing 3 to 2 and 4 to 3 and so forth. Assemble the altar, part B. Score, cut, fold and
glue the floor part 7. Glue the altar into its place in the floor.
Glue the assembled front and left wall to the right and rear wall, joining them at corners
Y and W. Note that the adjoining stonework has been duplicated on tabs Y and W. These tabs
are to be glued on the outside of the left and right walls. The inner tabs at corners W
and Y can be either inside of the front and rear inner walls or outside depending on which
fits best.
Before the glue on the above assembly sets, glue the floor into place
with the altar toward the rear of the building. The assembled stairs should be glued to
the front underneath the door.
