The Ehrhardt was utilized by the German Army in the Verdun region, used primarily as convey support. Later they were sent to Transylvania to be used against the Rumanians. The vehicle was equipped with a radio which was not popular with the crews. They had to stop and erect a tall extensible aerial before the radio could be used. Although large cars, the interior was rather cramped when carrying the normal crew of 8-9 men. Some of these cars were sent to support Turkish operations in Palestine. They were also used with success on the Ukrainian front in 1918.
