The Siemens-Schuckert D-III

First entering service in late 1917 the Siemens-Schuckert D-III quickly became popular with the German pilots.   It had a superb rate of climb.  Its  maneuverability and   ease of handling however was offset by its reputation as being difficult to land.   Eighty DIIIs were constructed and served with eight Jastas.
