TEXAS WAR OF INDEPENDENCE
The people of Texas, Mexican and Anglo, had grown tired of the oppressive and corrupt government of Mexico. They banded together to form the Republic of Texas with its own army, navy and marine corps. The Battle at the Alamo was only part of a larger conflict which had been going on for several years.

Militia units called Texas Rangers were organized, early as 1823, to fight Indians. They were formalized into state troops during the War of Texas Independence 1835-1836. One group, the Gonzales Ranging Company of Mounted Volunteers, joined the defenders of the Alamo and died with them.
By utilizing a large variety of heads, arms, weapons, and by rotating the paint schemes, each of these Mounted Texas Rangers is unique.
